Movie Review: Man On Wire

Alternate title: “Lydia’s Future”

I had some time to kill yesterday between the dentist and presidential debate #2.  Thank goodness Dr. A’s office is near the Embarcadero Theaters. I stopped by afterwards at the last minute to enjoy what turned out to be a real treat –James Marsh’s “Man On Wire“.  There’s not much I can add to its great reviews –just go see it.  I really think it’s a movie everyone can enjoy.  It was the funnest and most moving documentary I’ve seen since Wordplay.  It sounds like a simple story –man walks across the WTC towers on a tightrope.  Right –I remember that pic from my 1977 Guinness Book of World Records as a child.  But the story of getting to that point is more complex and more fun than you would probably think.

Be warned though [Lori], according to the film, the protagonist started out as a child who loved to climb up high on *everything* he could.  It’s a direct line from this, to this:
