Weekend Report 12/28/08
We had a little mini getaway to Marin county this weekend. Not much to report here– just got a lot of reading done. Pediatric, Midnight’s Children and Founding Father reading. Thanks to a tip from Andrea, we enjoyed a fabulous French meal at El Paseo in Mill Valley and spent the night overlooking the harbor in Sausalito. Sunrise this morning was spectacular. I had the promenade all to myself:

another version with outgoing container ship:

Then on the way home, we decided to check out Cavallo Point, the old military barracks at Fort Point which were recently reborn as a lovely hotel campus and restaurant, Murray Circle. All just a walk down from the Marin foot of the Golden Gate Bridge.

I think I’ve found the location of the next Barber Family Reunion. There are plenty of old homes to stay in and a HUGE lawn for the games and competitions:

After brunch, we hiked around the grounds and watched the fisherpeople down by the bridge. Did you know you can keep red crabs, but have to throw back Dungeness?

Sounds like a lovely trip, guys. We had beautiful weather in S.F. today. Hard to believe it is Dec. 28.
